**Primary Role Purpose**

To provide efficient and effective payroll administration support covering the payroll and benefit processes in dmg media, within the payroll team. The Payroll Administrator will be expected to ensure the accurate processing of wages, salaries and other forms of compensation across their allocated payroll site. They will be responsible for maintaining a proactive and positive working relationship with their key customers on their allocated payroll sites and ensuring that queries are answered on a timely basis.

You will be used to working in a busy payroll function where priorities can change to adapt to business needs. Attention to detail and producing accurate quality work is essential along with excellent communication and teamwork skills.

**What will you be doing?**
- Ensuring all amendments are processed via Workday or posted directly to the payroll system (iTrent) prior to the payroll deadline.
- Inform relevant stakeholder of any known missing data and ensure that this data is complete on Workday and received in iTrent prior to the payroll deadline.
- Review the errors, exceptions and elements reports and reconcile to final payroll.
- Update the system for all leave types ensuring pay is accurately calculated.
- Ensure pension deductions are processed accurately and in line with Auto-enrolment and Pensions Salary Sacrifice/Exchange procedures.
- Ensure all documentation for new starters and leavers is entered onto the payroll system.
- Distribution of P45's, Statement of earnings and other documentation as required.
- Undertaking any other payroll duties as/when required by the business.
- Ensure that the BACS report, payroll summary and final analysis are reconciled and authorised.
- Ensure that the payroll information is ready to be transmitted to the BACS system 4 days before the relevant pay date and the funds transferred to employees' bank accounts by pay date or previous Friday if pay date is a weekend or bank holiday.
- Responding promptly to general queries from the Payroll Admin inbox.
- Assist the finance team with payroll reconciliation.
- Assist in the preparation and issuing of P60's to employees and provide details to the Inland Revenue by the required deadline.
- Assist other members of the team when necessary including the weekly payroll, internal and external audit.

**General Expectations**

- Ensure a consistent quality of payroll services to customers adhering to high internal standards and minimum quality issues.
- Ensure that open and consistent lines of communication are maintained with customers.
- Ensure the delivery of Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators
- Contribute to service led culture always ensuring the satisfaction of the customer.
- Highlight any recurring issues.
- Keep up to date with relevant Payroll legislation.
- To participate in any internal/external training courses as required
- Keep up to date with new technology and system developments.

**Essential Skills**
- An understanding of UK payroll practices/procedures, including all legislative requirements.
- Ability to perform complex payroll calculations, including family leaves & tax calculations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly motivated and able to work alone or as part of a team.
- Ability to organise, prioritise and manage tasks accurately to meet demanding deadlines.
- A proactive approach to identifying problems and formulating solutions.
- An enthusiastic and flexible approach.
- Committed to both self and organisational development.
- Ability to work with accuracy and good attention to detail.
- Ability to keep calm and stay focussed under pressure.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, and proficient user of Excel.

**Desirable Skills**
- Knowledge and experience of using of iTrent and Workday.
- Experience of working in HR shared services.
- Experience of working on multiple payrolls.
