The School of Medical and Health Sciences is offering an exciting opportunity to join our academic team. This is a new role within the school and will be key to our success in recruiting students to our nursing and allied health programmes. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the academic team in all recruitment and selection activities for a range of programmes commissioned by Health Education Improvement Wales. The role will also involve the delivery of sessions to support the integration of students on to the professional programme and some lecturing responsibilities on the inter-professional programmes.

As a registered health professional, you will understand the requirements for professional programmes leading to registration with a regulatory body. You will also an excellent communicator and can enthuse and inspire prospective and current students, acting as an ambassador for the profession.

The School of Medical and Health Sciences is an interprofessional school which sits within the College of Human Sciences and provides medical, health and care education and research at Bangor University. The school offers a career-spanning portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and short courses for health and care and allied professionals. It comprises over 200 staff, delivering to more than 1300 students from across the health and medical professions including dentistry.

The school works in partnership with health, social and educational care providers through well-established links, this provides a total clinical and academic experience for all professional programmes. Our portfolio of professional programmes continues to expand, with new programmes in pharmacology commencing soon, with a programme in pharmacy currently in development. We hold an Athena Swan Bronze award in recognition of our commitment to and progress towards gender equality within the University's policies, practices, and culture.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post.

Purpose of the Job

**Responsibilities**:
The post holder will:
- Lead on the preparation of reports for internal leadership meetings and HEIW and BCUHB commissioning meetings.- Liaise with the university’s administration team to ensure that the recruitment and selection process is effective and adheres to policy and principles of equality and diversity.- Teach communication and physical examinations skills to students across a range of programmes.- Organise and lead regular recruitment meetings with programme leads. This will involve providing updates on progress, identifying areas where action is required and supplying feedback from applicants to improve future recruitment initiatives.- Develop, in partnership with the college marketing team, a range of marketing activities required for a growing and diversifying portfolio of programmes, ensuring that school level activity complements marketing activity at a college and institutional level and delivers a positive ROI.- Prepare the School’s activities as part of the University Open Days and UCAS offer holder days, including postgraduate open days.- Identify and attend external student recruitment events, reviewing the value of attendance following each event and using this information to inform future activity.- Act as the marketing lead for the school of health and medical sciences. This will involve representing the school at the college recruitment and marketing task group and chairing/leading the school recruitment and marketing group.- Work with the Directors of Student Engagement, Senior Tutor and programme leads to support the pre-induction processes, welcome week, and other onboarding activities, ensuring a seamless and high-quality student experience.- In conjunction with programme leads identify interventions which could reduce student attrition rates and implement as agreed.- Highlight to prospective students the attraction of a career in healthcare.Administrative and Wider Contribution duties will include:
