Tomato Energy is seeking **Billing Specialist** to lead a scale-up across our business; you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the billing process for our commercial clients.
As **Billing Specialist**, you will run the **client billing** along with the **credit control **and **debt collection** processes. You will keep track of money owed by clients, prepare invoices, maintain records and contribute to the improvement of business processes.
This key role provides billing support to the directors and managers as well as assisting the Support Team with client service requirements. The role is varied and in addition to billing will include some administrative duties and support for specific projects.

**Who are we looking for?**
We are seeking an experienced Billing Analyst to manage our commercial clients through our ambitious growth plans. You will be required to effectively communicate with our Energy Brokers and Customers to build, maintain and manage effective relationships.
We are looking for someone with good, all-round billing and **credit control** skills gained in a customer facing role. You will have a great team ethic, flexible approach and passion for delivering outstanding client service. An excellent telephone manner, strong IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel along with an eye for detail are essential. Experience in a professional services environment and knowledge of Xero would be an advantage.
Experience with data analytics and reporting, data visualization is essential.
**Essential Duties/Responsibilities**:
- Acquire a thorough understanding of the electricity lifecycles from contract initiation to fulfilment and final account processing.
- Identify issues using reporting methods to maintain compliance with internal & external SLAs around transaction and billing accuracies and timeliness
- Assist with root-cause analysis to identify solutions to exceptions, errors, and process gaps.
- Resolve issues in a timely manner or escalate as appropriate.
- Ensure actual meter readings are obtained from the customers on time before billing run.
- Dealing with metering agent & Distribution Network Operator as when needed.
- Create and roll out a performance management and appraisal process which supports the organisation’s culture, values and performance objectives.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage all the commercial bills and payments are up to date by working closely with credit control team.
To perform these tasks, as a Billing **Specialist** must have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. You should also have knowledge of accounting principles and experience using billing and invoicing software. A bachelor's degree in mathematics, finance or accounting, or a related field is typically suitable for this position.
