Job Title:

Utility Payment Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Utility Payment Specialist to join our team at Tomato Energy in Basingstoke. This is a full-time position with a salary of approximately £25,400 per annum.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing utility expenditure, identifying overcharges and/or errors on invoices, and maintaining the billing and consumption database.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the end-to-end delivery of designated Billing Portfolio
  • Aquire a thorough understanding of electricity lifecycles from contract initiation to fulfilment and final account processing
  • Identify issues using reporting methods to maintain compliance with internal & external SLAs around transaction and billing accuracies and timeliness
  • Resolve issues in a timely manner or escalate as appropriate
  • Ensure actual meter readings are obtained from customers on time before billing run
  • Dealing with metering agent & Distribution Network Operator as needed
  • Create and roll out a performance management and appraisal process which supports the organisation's culture, values and performance objectives
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage all commercial bills and payments are up to date by working closely with credit control team
  • Be flexible and a strong team player, as the role will develop over time

Requirements:

To perform these tasks, the Utility Payment Specialist must have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. You should also have knowledge of accounting principles and experience using billing and invoicing software.
