Working hours - Monday - Thursday 830am - 4pm

Friday - 830am - 4pm

Hybrid - 2 days in the office 3 at home

Our client based in Thornliebank are looking for an experienced Generalist HR Advisor to join their busy office. They are a very successful business who have been established for over 50 years. This is a newly generated position due to continual growth of the business. HR Advisory experience is essential for this position. Within this HR position you will work closely with managers and teams in all areas of the business to support delivery of our people strategy, fostering a positive work environment within a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

**About the role**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Providing Generalist HR advice, guidance and support to managers and employees within the company.
- Coach managers on best practice in relation to people management, performance and disciplinary matters to ensure consistency of approach
- Ensure HR processes are in line with best practice and legislative requirements across all Star Group companies
- Support recruitment and on-boarding activity to develop the workforce to meet future business needs
- Develop, review and update HR related policies in line with legislative changes
- Support continued Investors in People and Investors in Young People recognition and improvement activity in line with the framework

**Key skills and experience**:

- Previous experience in a similar generalist HR Advisor role
- Sound working knowledge of UK Employment Law
- Motivated and used to working in a fast paced environment
- 3 + years HR Advisor experience
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Able to work flexibly on a variety of duties and prioritise tasks efficiently
- Highly organised and detail oriented, with good administration skills
- The ability to take initiative and have a proactive approach
