Post No. IS1032 - Senior Fraud Officer
An opportunity has arisen to join the Benefits Department. The department is responsible for administering Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction and strives to provide an excellent service for the residents of the city.
The position is a full time post of 37 hours per week.
We are seeking a highly committed and experienced fraud officer to join our team.
The post will be a hybrid of office based and home working.
You will be responsible for managing all matters relating to fraud and other schemes to achieve housing benefit and council tax reduction award accuracy. The role involves managing a team of benefits assessor and administrative staff.
You will have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s grade C and above and professional qualification in security (such as PINS/ACFIP) or relevant experience.
You will have knowledge of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction legislation and experience working in a benefit environment or similar, excellent communication skills and be IT proficient.
You will have experience interviewing customers in the office or other establishments, investigative work and liaison with other official departments to obtain information within GDPR. The role may include joint working with other official bodies such as DWP and the police and giving evidence in court.
