We have an exciting opportunity for a **Community Engagement Team Leader **who has the skills and experience to play a key role within local communities raising awareness and promoting our services, building positive relationships with people who are from BAME, LGBTQ+, Older adults, Gypsy and Traveller communities, Veterans and Non-English-speaking populations.With this role you’ll be working as part of a diverse team and service. The team supports people with their or their loved ones’ drug and/or alcohol issues.No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key.**Where**:Hertfordshire**Hours**: 22.5h per week**Salary**: £34,700.09 - £36,635.38 pro rata (CGL Scale 31 - 33) With Outer London Fringe of £683.99**Responsibilities**:
**About the role**:
- Engage staff to provide a continually improving and innovative service.
- Provide leadership, management, support and development to a diverse team of staff
- Attend and build postive relationships with outreach centres, community venues and create satellite services to engage and support BAME, LGBTQ+, Older adults, Gypsy and Traveller communities, Veterans and Non-English-speaking communities
- Attend meetings/forums/events where appropriate
- Deliver educational and awareness sessions to communities
- Support service users and families by signposting and advocating for them to access support, being a central person between them and other service
- Identify ways to remove barriers and find solutions to help engage diverse communities.
- Provide confidential, easily accessible, non-judgmental advice around substance misuse to BAME, LGBTQ+, Older adults, Gypsy and Traveller communities, Veterans and Non-English-speaking populations
**About you**:
- Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field
- Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills
- Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills
- Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice
- Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
- Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users
- Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others
