**About The Client **:Our client is a distinguished provider of specialized insurance solutions for the commercial and agricultural sector. With a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by their clients, they are dedicated to delivering exceptional service and tailored insurance products. They are currently seeking a meticulous and proactive Claim Handler to join their team based just outside Ipswich.
**Job Overview**: As a Claim Handler, you will be responsible for managing and processing insurance claims from our clients. Your role will involve investigating claims, coordinating with clients and other stakeholders, and ensuring timely and accurate claims resolution. You will play a vital role in maintaining client satisfaction and upholding our company’s reputation for excellent service.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Claims Processing**: Manage and process insurance claims from initial notification through to settlement. Ensure all claims are handled efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- **Client Communication**: Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the claims process. Provide clear and timely updates on claim status, address client inquiries, and offer guidance on the claims procedure.
- **Investigation**: Conduct thorough investigations of claims, including gathering relevant documentation, conducting site visits if necessary, and liaising with clients, adjusters, and other relevant parties.
- **Assessment and Evaluation**: Assess the validity of claims, determine coverage, and evaluate the extent of loss or damage. Collaborate with underwriters and other internal teams to make informed decisions on claims settlements.
- **Documentation**: Maintain comprehensive and organized records of all claims activities, communications, and documentation. Ensure all files are up-to-date and comply with regulatory and company standards.
- **Resolution and Settlement**: Negotiate fair and timely settlements with clients, ensuring that all settlements are in line with policy terms and conditions. Manage any disputes or challenges related to claims.
- **Risk Management**: Identify potential risks and fraud indicators during the claims process. Implement measures to mitigate risks and escalate suspicious cases for further investigation.
- **Client Education**: Provide clients with information and advice on risk management and loss prevention practices. Help clients understand policy coverage and exclusions.
- **Team Collaboration**: Work closely with other claim handlers, underwriters, account handlers, and external partners to ensure a coordinated and efficient claims process.
- **Market Awareness**: Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in agricultural insurance claims handling.
**Qualifications**:
- **Experience**: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in insurance claims handling, preferably with a focus haulage or shipping claims.
- **Education**: A-Level qualifications or equivalent. Professional qualifications such as Cert CII or Dip CII are advantageous.
- **Knowledge**: Strong understanding of operations, risks, and insurance products. Familiarity with claims processes and regulatory requirements.
- **Skills**: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in using claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- **Attributes**: Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Proactive and customer-focused with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally.
- **Location**: Based just outside Ipswich, Suffolk, with the ability to travel to client sites as required.
