As a Health Care Support Worker, you will be a hugely valuable support to our Nursing team, providing hands on clinical care to the children by supporting them to develop and participate in everyday life.

**Examples of what you may do as part of your role**:

- Driving to multiple locations to deliver care to patients at the hospital site, in their own homes or in school settings
- Washing and dressing patients
- Serving meals and feeding patients via PEG tube
- Helping patients to move around
- Making beds
- Talking to patients and their families
- Monitoring patient condition
- Care of Tracheostomy’s
- Oral/Nasal/Tracheostomy Suction
- Invasive & Non-Invasive Ventilation
- Administering Medication

About You
- Caring and kind
- Cheerful and friendly
- Keen to support patients and their families
- Able to follow direct instructions
- Good written English and Maths skills
- Happy to work in a team but also able to use own initiative
- Have good listening and communication skills
- Be well organised but flexible and open to change

As the role requires travelling around the community to multiple locations it is an essential requirement that you hold a Full Driving License valid for use in the UK and have use of your own vehicle.

We care for the children & their families in the comfort of their own homes as well as providing support in schools. Ryegate House provides overnight short breaks for children and young people aged 0-19 with complex neuro-disabilities, multiple and profound physical and learning disabilities and life-limiting conditions.
