As a Health Care Support Worker, you will be a hugely valuable support to our Nursing team, providing hands on clinical care to the children by supporting them to develop and participate in everyday life.

**Examples of what you may do as part of your role**:
Driving to multiple locations to deliver care to patients at the hospital site, in their own homes or in school settings

Washing and dressing patients

Serving meals and feeding patients via PEG tube

Helping patients to move around

Making beds

Talking to patients and their families

Monitoring patient condition

Care of Tracheostomy’s

Oral/Nasal/Tracheostomy Suction

Invasive & Non-Invasive Ventilation

Administering Medication

About You

Caring and kind

Cheerful and friendly

Keen to support patients and their families

Able to follow direct instructions

Good written English and Maths skills

Happy to work in a team but also able to use own initiative

Have good listening and communication skills

Be well organised but flexible and open to change

As the role requires travelling around the community to multiple locations it is an essential requirement that you hold a Full Driving License valid for use in the UK and have use of your own vehicle.

Ryegate House provides overnight short breaks for children and young people aged 0-19 with complex neuro-disabilities, multiple and profound physical and learning disabilities and life-limiting conditions.
