We’re seeking an exceptional leader who will champion our strategic priorities of applicant experience, diversification and digital enablement; crucial in accelerating Imperial’s ambition to increasing its global impact and reputation.

This critical and trusted role will bring together the Admissions systems and data team, and the Market Insight and Data team to deliver the required insight, approach, framework and datasets, enabling evidence-based strategic decision making.

Working in partnership with multiple stakeholders to identify business need and strategic challenges, you will lead the development and delivery of analysis, insight and recommendations into areas such as: fees, scholarships and bursaries, competitors and market position, entry requirements, admissions trends, applicant experience and behaviour, brand perception and portfolio development. As the ‘go to’ team for pre-enrolment insight and systems expertise, you will look for opportunities to disseminate findings across the College to ensure insight is at the heart of decision making.

With an expert knowledge of admissions systems, data structures and dependencies, integrations, data flows and business rules/processes, your service-orientated data manipulation and analysis will support data quality assurance and alignment, whilst highlighting opportunities that deliver efficiencies within the admissions process.

**Duties and responsibilities**:
You will work closely with the Deputy Director of MRA (Admissions and Data) and take the lead on the following:

- Work closely with senior stakeholders to establish an evidence-based approach to the College’s Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions strategy and portfolio of courses.
- Collaborate with Faculty Marketing Managers/Education teams across the College to position Imperial’s courses competitively, interpreting detailed competitor benchmarking and insight and portfolio analysis.
- Develop datasets, definitions and frameworks (using internal and external data and marketing analytics tools) to effectively track success and insight into pre-enrolment funnel and MRA initiatives. Establish enhanced metrics and KPIs to ensure all campaign and admissions activity can be effectively evaluated, and new opportunities/interventions proactively identified.
- Keep abreast of sector trends, information sources (internal and external), innovative research methodologies and strategic opportunities.
- Have responsibility for the oversight of Imperial’s student record system interface with UCAS, and have an expert understanding of the admissions business rules, key dates and processes to support and evaluate the effective and efficient delivery of the admissions cycle. Responsible for bulk business system activities.
- Work with the Head of Admissions with the planning and technical delivery of the College’s undergraduate confirmation process.
- Ensure active involvement in any on-going system enhancements (and mitigating against issues), working closely with the ICT Student Life Cycle team, including Imperial 360, our new College-wide CRM.
- Line-manage the Market Insight and Data Manager and the Admissions Manager (Systems and Data).

**Essential requirements**:

- Evidence of working in a market research or systems data leadership role in an organisation of comparable complexity.
- Highly numerate and analytical. Experience of interrogating and analysing large datasets to deliver recommendations and actionable insight.
- Experience of using both quantitative and qualitative research methodology approaches to design and deliver insightful market research and insight projects.
- Demonstrable experience in communicating data in engaging and compelling formats and presenting outcomes in a clear and concise manner.
- Substantial experience of working in partnership with senior stakeholders in a complex environment to understand their priorities and challenges and to anticipate and respond to business need.
- Knowledge, understanding and curiosity of the higher education landscape, policies, practices, and key data sets, specifically in Admissions.

The post is offered on a full-time, open-ended contract.

Hybrid working may be considered for this role and the post-holder may be expected to work 60% or more of their time onsite, with 40% the minimum time spent onsite. The opportunity for hybrid working will be discussed at interview.
