Manage and lead Somerset NHS Talking Therapies Service (TT), ensuring the delivery of high quality evidence-based treatment and meeting the local and national targets set by Commissioners and by the Trust. As a senior, specialist clinical lead with substantial mental health experience, and direct experience of NHS Talking Therapies services, provide a high level of specialist expertise within the service and undertake significant operational management responsibilities. Work alongside senior colleagues in the Trust to ensure that the clinical interventions offered by the service are delivered efficiently, effectively and safely are in line with the best evidence and expert consensus available are delivered in accordance with both Commissioner and Trust requirements are built on an understanding of and commitment to delivering an NHS Talking Therapies service. Link in with the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Service group to support good interface arrangements and to contribute as appropriate to service group wide developments.

Work with the Head of Psychological Professions to ensure compliance in meeting internal and external standards, retaining clinical quality and safety at all times. Contain and work with organisational stress and hold the stress of others. Strategic planning and propose changes to the service to ensure/promote effective service delivery, and to encourage innovation. Manage performance across the service, and poor performance as appropriate.

To carry a small clinical caseload, as agreed with line manager.
