Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Psychologist to lead our Children's Eating Disorder Service (CEDS) in Somerset. This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to contribute to clinical and system change in the South West.

About the Role

This full-time position involves providing clinical leadership to other psychologists and the multi-disciplinary team, offering high-quality psychologically informed support to young people and their families. The service covers the whole of Somerset, with the main office base in Taunton, and some travel expected. There may be opportunities for work from home if required.

Main Duties
  • Providing direct and indirect specialist supervision and consultation to junior psychologists and other clinical team members.
  • Offering direct clinical psychology services to children and young people with complex eating disorders or eating-related difficulties and their carers.
  • Developing and delivering teaching programmes for CEDS.
  • Liaising and working with other professionals as appropriate, promoting a psychological perspective and the use of psychological approaches for care coordination.
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Doctoral Clinical Psychology qualification or equivalent, accredited by the British Psychology Society (BPS).
  • Eligibility for Chartered Clinical Psychologist status and registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience working with clients with complex presentations within CAMHS or similar services.
  • Teaching, training, and professional and clinical supervision experience.
  • Support experience for junior qualified and non-qualified staff members.
