The Senior Payments Officer will oversee and supervise daily running of Payment Team in conjunction with Payments Manager, including adherence to, and development of, efficient operational procedures.

Be the point of reference for Payment Officers and in addition, contribute to their annual appraisal via provision of feedback to the Payments Manager which includes observational development areas where.

To support the wider Transaction team with queries, training and escalations; utilizing their knowledge and experience in payment processing.

Covering leadership activities in the absence of the team manager to ensure continual service for customers.

**Role Responsibilities**:

- Monitors work queues, assigns daily work and verifies completion to achieve service level standards.
- To pro-actively handle sensitive and complex non-standard queries/ situations
- Conduct root cause analysis on error / complaint areas to identify gaps or control weaknesses in our process or support an environment of continuous improvement
- To work flexibly alongside other leaders which support the overall achievement of Operational Objectives
- Ensure the team runs efficiently and are continuously analysing processes to find improvements
- Act as point of reference for colleagues, and deal with queries/questions, helps with team member problems, and oversees teamwork for quality.
- Ensure working practices and procedures are developed and adhered to.
- Ensure staff maintain adequate training to undertake their role in line with the relevant training matrix achieving a high standard of accuracy and service delivery.
- Managing a team to achieve key operational performance targets.
- The accountability for this role spans all elements of payment processing for the Bank.
- The role holder will support payments being executed right first time and with a bias toward delivery of excellent customer service. The role holder will work alongside other Payment Officers as the main technical specialist for the bank relating to payments.
- In depth knowledge of working and dealing with payments tasks and processes.
- Ensures incidents are recorded in the Incident Management System and reviewed and analysed.
- Support FLOD testing
- The role holder will support the leadership team by covering duties during periods of absence.
- The role will be responsible for developing and delivering the training needs for the team, ensuring the team continues to be a center of excellence for payment processing.
