Are you organised and efficient, confident in working under strict deadlines?- We are currently recruiting for a Building & Events Assistant position that may be ideal for you Based in Oxford City Centre, this role is 29 hours per week, at a rate of £15.24 per hour.- Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Working with the Professional Services team, help provide a high level of facilities across all three buildings working proactively and resolving queries, including;
- Undertake H&S inductions for office holders and contractors;
- Undertake weekly fire alarm testing and termly fire drills;
- Manage key records and card access;
- Coordinate system schedules such as PAT testing
- Plan and coordinate short term, in-house building related projects, liaising with Estates, contractors and suppliers;
- Provide advice on administrative arrangements for events including room booking, catering, travel, accommodation
- Person specification

**Essential**:

- Experience of event organisation and planning
- Experience of facilities management
- Ability to clearly and accurately communicate processes and procedures verbally and in writing
- Ability to use own initiative and work efficiently in a busy environment
- Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision, and a willingness to resolve situations, as well as knowing when to refer issues to others
- Ability to use standard computer programs (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Willing to complete first aid and fire safety training

**Desirable**:

- Experience of working within an HE institution or within a service industry environment.
- Experience of working across several sites
- Experience of supporting building projects
- Formal Health and Safety training, e.g. manual handling
- Experience of the University’s systems (OnlineStore, DLO and WarpIt)
- Some experience of financial administration, including the ability to be numerate and accurate, with excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.
- Formal first aid and fire safety marshall training
- Formal asbestos awareness training
- TSS workers accrue holiday pay that is equivalent to 38 days per year, this means you accrue a whopping 17.1% in holiday pay for the hours that you work for us._
