Pattemores is a family run business on the Somerset/Dorset border and have been trading for over eighty years, firstly as a Transport provider but then growing into producing Dairy Ingredients for food producers. The dairy is now in a continuing period of growth, expansion and investment, and by upgrading and increasing our production capacity, we are looking to position ourselves ready for the next 80 years.

To enable this, we are looking for an experienced Welder/Fabricator who is very hands on and enjoys working on a wide variety of projects, as well as assisting in scoping/planning new projects, completing drawings & compiling technical documentation. This is a full-time permanent role, working a permanent day shift.

**Duties**:

- To assist with the design, build and implementation of new lines, along with upgrades to our current site process lines.
- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to help plan the site layout and pipe runs
- Weld components using manual welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
- Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
- Inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
- Fabrication: Ability to fabricate metal structures, components and pipelines according to specifications
- Sheet Metal: Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes including cutting, bending, and forming

**Experience**:

- Proven experience as welder involving extensive Welding and Fabrication Experience including purge, stainless steel and mild steel welding and fabrication
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA, MIG etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- Proficient in English
- Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program will be a plus
- Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus
- Power Tools: Experience operating power tools for cutting, shaping, and grinding metal pieces
- Hand Tools: Proficiency in using hand tools for measuring, marking, and assembling metal pieces
- Mechanical Knowledge: Understanding of mechanical systems for troubleshooting and repairs
- Ability to work on own initiative, be self-motivated but also work as part of a team without constant supervision
- A flexible “can do” attitude to work and a good work ethic is essential.
- Must have the ability to undertake manual handling duties.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to maintain site and regulatory compliance.

Pay: £15.60-£18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 42.5 per week
