**Position**:
The Mental Health Foundation is recruiting for a Senior Research Officer to support our Research Team.

**Deadline**:Sunday 3 September 11pm

**Location**:London

**Salary**:Starting salary £36,724 rising to £40,755 plus £3285 London weighting pro rata

**Hours**:Part time 28 hours per week (0.8 FTE)

**Contract type**:Permanent

This exciting role will be instrumental in helping up build the evidence base for public mental health initiatives. The Senior Research Officer will lead and contribute to research and evaluation projects that are focused on improving the depth of understanding of preventing mental health problems and promoting good mental health.

**What does the role involve?**
- Develop and lead strategically important research and evaluation projects within timescales and budget.
- Produce high quality evidence to inform our activities.
- Work collaboratively across the Foundation’s teams and with external partners (such as academics, evaluators and community organisations) to shape and undertake research in a way which effectively influences multiple audiences and contributes to positive change.

**Requirements**:
**What skills, knowledge and experience are we looking for?**:

- Masters level qualification or equivalent relevant experience in social research techniques.
- Knowledge of major quantitative & qualitative research methodologies and proven ability to design research instrumentation tools.
- Demonstrable understanding of mental health and the impact of inequalities and adversity on mental health.
- Demonstrable effective writing skills, with experience in collecting, analysing and presenting evidence in order to produce reports, data visuals, practical outputs and policy recommendations.
