**Restaurant Host - The Botanical Rooms**

The Newt in Somerset is looking for a _**_charismatic_**_ host to joined our Botanical Rooms Restaurant team_**

**Your role**

As Host you will ensure smooth and efficient running of service across the Botanical Rooms and department. You will be confident, self-motivated, lead from the front and passionate about hospitality. Your prime focus will be on guest’s experience - meeting, greeting and seating the guest, whilst supporting your managers to deliver exceptional service. You will be placed within a team of 20 staff and happy to enthuse, coach and support waiters. Creating and ensuring a close working relationship with your team is key, as department fluidity is essential for our business.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Ensure the Botanical Rooms restaurant is impeccably set according to the reservations and that service throughout is faultless.
- Ensure the guest has the best possible experience, enthusing your team to prevail.
- Support staff training, development and motivation.
- Meet, greet and seat our guests with warmth and professionalism, whilst building rapport and guest profile.
- Managing cross charging between rooms, tracking our guests’ journey.
- Ensure your team and their menu knowledge is current and correct, installing confidence in theirs and your delivery.
- Liaise with Restaurant Manager and team leaders to ensure private dining and special events are executed well throughout the department.
- Ensure breakfast, lunch and evening shifts run efficiently and smoothly.
- Maintain company representation, ensuring you and your team always look impeccable.
- Ensure The Newt’s style of service and ethos is always upheld.
