Job overview

As part of the Liverpool University Foundation Trust (LUHFT) has a service level agreement with Liverpool Women’s Hospital.

Your role will link with both trustsfor support and oversight of the dietetic service, and will be supported by the wider Therapy Management Team in LUHFT including the Head of Operations and Deputy Head of Operations.

Post available to Clinically qualified Registered dietician with current professional registration (HCPC)

Main duties of the job
- Being the chair for the Clinical Nutrition Group committee and producing a chair’s report to relevant trust meetings
- Taking leadership in progression with actions against the National Standards for Food and Drink
- Supporting in development and delivery of the Trust Nutritional/Dietetics strategies

This role will be both clinical and management role

The role supports the dietetic team, whilst continuing to deliver existing service delivery, you will have the opportunity to influence change and develop service transformation to improve patient experience.

As a lead Therapist you will ensure that operational plans and performance are closely managed, by leading and providing solutions to resolve difficult operational issues, in accordance with agreed Trust objectives, targets, quality standards and resource constraints.

With significant experience in leading teams, you will possess leadership skills to deal competently with difficult issues ensuring that policy is implemented and performance managed.

The role contributes to strategic direction and policy setting for the service, forming an essential two way communications link between the Trsust, ensuring that key messages, team brief etc. are shared and discussed.

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The merger provides an opportunity to reconfigure services in a way that provides the best healthcare services to the city and improves the quality of care and health outcomes that patients experience.

The Trust runs Aintree University Hospital, Broadgreen Hospital, Liverpool University Dental Hospital and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital. It serves a core population of around 630,000 people across Merseyside as well as providing a range of highly specialist services to a catchment area of more than two million people in the North West region and beyond.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

With a strong clinical background you will inform future models of working that support integration and transformation and the delivery of care.

Your role will include driving the quality and safety of the clinical activity of the Teams that you lead to ensure the provision of a responsive service.

With excellent communication skills and people management skills you will be able to develop effective working relationship within and outside of the care group to support wider system working and integration.

You will be interested in developing and empowering others.

You will have line management responsibility for clinical staff within the therapies care group. There will be a requirement for the post holder to deputise for the Head of Therapies.

You will lead on the quality of care provided, will be a role model and quality driven, caring and compassionate, upholding the standards and values of the AHP profession.

You will provide support to both trusts senior leadership team by ensuring that optimum quality of care and clinical excellence is achieved and maintained.
