**LRB Buying Assistant**

**Reports To**:Category Manager

**Based**: Normanton or Sheffield (Hybrid role)

Hours of Work - **Full time in a permanent position**

**Role Specification**

The role is based in either Normanton or Sheffield. The Buyer will be required to travel to other Group locations to work alongside colleagues and for external meetings as appropriate. This is a hybrid role and is office based 3 days per week.

**WHAT WILL I BE DOING?**

**Role Objective**

The LRB Buying Assistant will support the Merchandising and Inventory Management teams with sourcing products outside of the normal supply chain routes. The role will deliver continuous successful commercial negotiations that improve the overall performance of the business. The role will work to ensure sustainable procurement objectives are met and the business remains fully compliant on all products it sells.

Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

- Understanding sourcing for UK and Ireland from suppliers in the UK, Europe and the Rest of the World
- Identification & development of long term suppliers for existing products in accordance with the Group strategy and plan.
- Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best business package for the EVO Group including pricing, rebates and payment terms
- Working with Group Inventory to manage supplier import arrangements to the UK and Ireland
- Take overall responsibility for vendor ‘housekeeping‘ including supplier set up, supplier audits and stock issues.
- Report on supplier performance and manage communication with suppliers on issues and improvement plans where required.
- Understand and monitor product and supplier compliance in line with company terms and conditions and keep up to date with differences between EU and UK product certification.
- Build strong relationships and rapport with key personnel, interfacing at different levels with key supplier contacts. Ensure regular communication on EVO’s strategic direction.
- Prioritise activity that presents the greatest influence, both real and potential, on the profitability of EVO Group
- Raising purchase orders, following up delivery dates with suppliers, dealing with potential queries
- General administration including updating order trackers and excel documents
