Cardiff, United Kingdom NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership Full time

We’re excited to advertise a new opportunity in NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership as a Speaking up Safely Lead. This is a unique role that will support the organisation in complying and implementing the NHS Wales Speaking Up Safely Framework and its principles. This role will support all employees in the organisation by creating and facilitating mechanisms for raising concerns openly or anonymously, and with confidence. They will also drive activities that will create a culture of speaking up safely and engage with key stakeholders to ensure inclusion is a core consideration in this work.

We are an agile organisation and are happy to consider reasonable adjustments that will support individuals to work effectively with us.

If you want to make a difference to how people feel at work, this is the role for you

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

We are looking for someone with experience of engaging different groups of people as the post holder will be required to engage with colleagues in a variety of roles including clinical, professional, and transactional roles. They will also need experience in delivering presentations and training and have great communication and facilitation skills. This person will need to understand policy and framework compliance and how to manipulate and present data to varying levels of seniority, including providing information that will be used to demonstrate our compliance with the Speaking up Safely Framework to Welsh Government.

This role will also be actively involved in equality, diversity and inclusion activities that support the NHS Wales Speaking Up Safely Framework. It’s therefore important that they lead with a compassionate and inclusive approach and are able to communicate with people from different backgrounds and experience.

We have high standards and expect everyone to embrace our values of Listening & Learning, Working Together, Taking Responsibility & Innovating, whilst ensuring trust, honesty and compassion are implicit in everything that we do. We are adaptable, agile and flexible and pride ourselves on being a learning organisation - one where it is safe to make mistakes, where blame is replaced by opportunity, learning and improvement. Innovation is built into everything that we do. We recognise our people regularly and have an Appreciation Station, to encourage staff to applaud exemplary behaviour in one another, alongside an Annual Staff Recognition Award ceremony aligned to our values. We respect and value our people and strive for a culture of compassion and inclusivity. We are a bilingual organisation, and we have a team of Change Champions who advocate ‘This is Our NWSSP’ our principal change programme. Similarly, PROUD is our new staff network welcoming LGBT+ colleagues and allies to come together in a safe space for discussions, event planning and the opportunity to build supportive networks. We have a comprehensive benefits package where there is something for everyone, supporting health, engagement and wellbeing and includes an Employee Assistance Programme. We have over 30 Mental Health First Aiders and work in partnership with local and national organisations to ensure the well-being and resilience of our people.
