Salary Scale: £33,778- £40,000 per annum

What is the purpose of this job?

The post holder will be required to provide programme administration and support to the Network Performance Portfolio Manager within the Operations team by supporting the delivery of the Network Performance Board activity and engaging with the Board’s steering groups.

What can I expect to do in this job?

The Programme Support Officer will work closely with, and support, the Network Performance Portfolio Manager to:

- Provide programme management of and secretariat support to the Better Operations Programme Board and associated activity
- Organise two Network Performance Seminars each financial year
- Assist with the execution of project management plans, progress reports, risk reports, project forecasts and change controls
- Prepare meeting papers and presentations and disseminate accordingly, including management of board portal software
- Produce standard and complex briefing / communication material across the industry under the Network Performance Board brand, ensuring delivery of hardcopy material and soft-copy publications on time, budget, and quality
- Collate accurate project meetings, book meeting rooms, and arrange catering, as required
- Attend internal and external meetings, take minutes and / or actions and distribute accordingly
- Meet and greet clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders

What experience, skills and knowledge do I need?

Essential
- Experience of working in a project office environment
- Understanding of the project office management process in APM (or similar) environment
- A good aptitude for analytical and problem solving, with good analysis and documentation skills
- Excellent knowledge of MS Project, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, OneDrive, and SharePoint
- High standard of written English (spelling, grammar, and ability to summarise information)
- Risk management recording and mitigations

Desirable
- Knowledge of different project management methods
- Agile development methodologies
- Experience in the creation of a project support office
- Project auditing
- BCS Programme & Project Support Office (Foundation) qualification, or similar
