Job summary

The Advisor to the Board plays a critical role in providingstrategic guidance and expert advice to the FedNet Board of Directors. Thesuccessful candidate will possess the following:

exceptional relationship-building skills, extensive senior-level management experience,and a non-clinical background in public health andprimary care.

Main duties of the job

This role involves attending one session and two meetings every month to provide insights, recommendations, and support to the board in effectively fulfilling its responsibilities.

We are a private limited company who provides NHS Services based in Primary Care, pooling the skills and resources of local GPs to provide large scale services as part of the local NHS Strategy to bring more services into the Community to help people stay well and at home

Job responsibilities

Strategic Guidance: Provide strategicadvice and recommendations to the Board on matters related to Primary Care, andorganisational development.

Strategic Planning: Assist the Board indeveloping and implementing strategic plans, goals, and objectives aligned withthe organisation's mission and vision.

Knowledge of Federated GP Models: Possessfamiliarity with federated models of healthcare delivery and experience workingwithin or alongside GP Federations, and Primary Care Networks.

Relationship Building: Cultivate andmaintain strong relationships with board members, senior executives,stakeholders, and external partners to facilitate collaboration and informeddecision-making.

Health Inequalities and Equity: Awarenessof health inequalities and social determinants of health, along with strategiesto address disparities in healthcare access and outcomes, is essential forpromoting health equity and inclusive healthcare services.

Health Policy and System Transformation: Understanding National Health policies, NHS reforms, and system transformationagendas, such as the integration of health and social care, digital healthinitiatives, and value-based care models, is crucial for informing strategicdecision-making and advocacy efforts.

Policy Analysis: Analyse and evaluateproposed policies, initiatives, and strategies to assess their potential impacton the organisation and advise the board accordingly.

Expert Consultation: Offer expertconsultation and insights on complex issues, trends, and developments in thehealthcare industry, Public Health policies, and Primary Care practices.

Data Analytics and Performance Management: Proficiency in data analytics, performance management, and outcomes measurementis beneficial for evaluating the effectiveness of healthcare services,identifying areas for improvement, and driving evidence-based decision-making.

Risk Management: Identify potentialrisks, challenges, and opportunities facing the organisation and providerecommendations for mitigating risks and maximising opportunities.

Board Meeting Participation: Attendmonthly Board meetings to present reports, updates, and recommendations, andactively contribute to discussions and decision-making processes.

Continuous Improvement: Monitor andevaluate the effectiveness of board decisions and initiatives, identify areasfor improvement and recommend strategies for enhancing organisationalperformance and governance.

Qualifications

Essential

Possesses extensive knowledge of public health policies, healthcare regulations, and Primary Care practices, coupled with adeptness in analysing complex data

Experience

Essential

Extensive experience in senior-level management in the healthcare sector with medium to large-sized organisations, particularly specialising in Public Health and NEL Primary Care, encompassing strong Commissioning expertise. Well-versed in Public Sector dynamics, Governance, and Operational Delivery. Recognised within local GP practices, among local commissioners, and stakeholders. Non-clinical background with a proven track record in fostering relationships with stakeholders such as board members, senior executives, government officials, and community leaders. Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills enable clear and persuasive articulation of intricate concepts. Exhibits strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, dedicated to advancing organisational excellence and fostering innovation.
