**About the Role**
Reporting directly to the Customer Service Manager, our Safeguarding Specialist is accountable for working with, enhancing and creating new partner organisations to ensure that we can deliver our wide range of services to customers living in vulnerable situations, as well as working within our business to promote the services we offer and ensure training and awareness to all our staff.
Our Safeguarding Specialist will also be required to lay the foundations of the GD2 plan for 2021 and ensure that we have partnerships, supply chains and agreements in place to hit the ground running as we reach April 2021. They must fully understand Cadent’s services and products, understand of the needs of the diverse community we support and be able to communicate this across Cadent, our partners, our customers and stakeholders.
Our Safeguarding Specialist will also accountable for delivering a lead on certain Social programmes; utilizing account management and partnership agreements to ensure that maximum benefit for both Cadent, our customers and our partners is leveraged.
**Alongside the above you’ll be responsible for**:
- Supporting in the design, development, planning, budgeting and implementation of the Social Programme Strategy
- Helping to shape the external Brand of Cadent through the delivery of Cadent’s Vulnerability & Social Strategy
- Managing Cadent’s relationships with various stakeholders and partners participating in both Cadent and regional initiatives to determine and shape the future needs of our customers and the development of future services
- Overseeing the partner portfolio, with specific reference to the identification of strategic partners and building and maintaining these relationships
- Supporting the management of the relationship with our fuel poor delivery partners and ensure delivery against the OFGEM agreed targets
- Designing and managing Cadent’s personalised welfare provision to ensure that the provision is appropriate and beneficial to Cadent’s customers, especially those living in vulnerable situations
**About You**
You will hold the following skills, knowledge and qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, highly impactful influencing and persuasion skills
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills; able to understand complex issues and translate them into simple, workable actions and plans
- Ability to think strategically, work creatively, effectively and in an innovative manner
- Able to be self-motivated and work on their own initiative
- Knowledge of social programs
- Politically astute, with a good understanding of key external organisations, how they operate and make decisions
- Clear understanding of the needs of customers living in vulnerable situations
- Commitment to and knowledge of creating a partner-led operational environment, with an ability to create an internal Cadent approach that is focussed on developing and supporting partner organisations to achieve direct impact and results relating to Cadent’s objectives
