We have an exciting opportunity for a Change and Engagement Specialist to join the new Growing Research Together Programme team. This senior role will lead and manage our overarching Change and Engagement strategy to meet the needs of our diverse and ambitious stakeholders.

**The Opportunity**

We have an exciting opportunity for a Change and Engagement Specialist to join our new team in the Growing Research Together Programme. This senior role will lead and manage our overarching Change and Engagement strategy to meet the needs of our diverse and ambitious stakeholders. You should be comfortable with the uncomfortable, and have the ability to generate strategies to best implement change in a varied, dynamic and exciting environment. You will be a key member of the GRT senior management team.

Growing Research Together is an ambitious programme which seeks to deliver an organisation-wide transformation of research support services within a large and diverse world-leading research-intensive University. Research support underpins a research income of c.£300m p.a., and is delivered by circa 500 FTE across a range of central, College, and School/Institute-based functions. Our vision is to create a more resilient and robust service that meets the needs of our researchers, provides great job satisfaction and career development for our research support colleagues, and is financially sustainable. We are about to start a new phase of activity which needs an experienced change and engagement specialist at its heart. Your role will provide change and engagement expertise to support the delivery of projects, communications and initiatives that aim to build on our good practice, and where necessary improve and change our research support services. You will work with and build key internal relationships across the university and in Schools, Units and Colleges.

You’ll bring a deep knowledge of method and tools that drive change and will have experience working in large organisations on large initiatives. We’d expect you to be a team player who is energised by getting involved in building engaging approaches and always looking for ways to find solutions and build on good practice. You will be a practitioner that rolls up your sleeves and delivers.

You will have skills and expertise in:

- transformational change: a strong track record and expert applied knowledge of transformational change methods, processes and techniques in large organisational change programmes
- facilitation: wide-ranging experience and the ability to design and run engaging workshops in challenging and/or change-averse environments
- using technical tools (across all platforms) to support internal change communications and engagement
- stakeholder engagement, including to the most senior levels in organisations
- communications: high-quality written and oral communications applied in a professional setting, including developing high impact messaging: combining words, creativity, graphics/visuals and quantitative/numbers-based evidence in ways that resonate with the target audience
- maximising the positive benefits of change
- continuous improvement.

As the Change and Engagement Specialist, you will be a key member of the senior management team. You will support decision-making and influencing a diverse multi-disciplinary network of stakeholders, and leading and supporting others with the development and delivery of high-quality and pragmatic transformation plans and creative solutions to capture people’s attention and inspire and include colleagues in creating our future research support services.
