We have an exciting opportunity available to join our Marketing Strategy and Planning team as a Marketing Strategy and Planning Consultant.

**Summary of role**:
The Strategic Planning Consultant will work in conjunction with, and support, the Head of Marketing Strategy & Planning. This will include supporting the formulation of strategy both at AUK and Marketing function level, facilitating the strategic agendaand creating / updating our channel participation strategies

You will support the RTS planning and prioritisation process to determine areas of investment for growth in the business over next 12-18 months based on strategy, as well as the creation of channel plans to articulate execution and delivery activities atchannel level across Marketing, Distribution, Customer Services.

Across all deliverables you will be expected to coordinate the data and information gathering process (liaising with peers in Marketing and other functions including Distribution, Customer Services, Change, Finance, Data analytics), conduct detailed analysis(both quantitative with data and qualitative) and to own the documentation of end outputs.

This is an exciting fast paced role to help drive the strategic agenda for Aegon UK and with exposure to senior management and leaders as well as opportunity to work across functions and teams to establish a wide network of relationships both within andoutside Aegon

**Key tasks**:
1. Facilitate and support the strategic planning cycle from strategy to RTS to channel plans to functional Marketing plans
- Own the creation of documents (Word, PowerPoint slides) - Board papers, strategy documents, RTS prioritisation, channel plans, Marketing plan
- Support data analysis
- Collaborate with counterparts within Marketing and other functions

2. Support the delivery of strategic initiatives within Marketing
- Conduct research (both market and internal), information gathering and data analysis
- Project management of delivery - timelines / progress tracking, actions, risks / issues

3. Regular reporting
- Retail adviser market and Workplace market trends - looking at market data and benchmarking reports to understand market dynamics and implications for proposition
- Customer trends - looking at market data and white papers to understand the changing needs of customers with regards to savings & wealth

4. Support the day to day running of the Marketing graduate scheme and project manage the annual graduate recruitment cycle

**Essential criteria**:

- Strong writing and documentation skills in Microsoft Office, particularly slide creation using PowerPoint and data analysis using Excel
- Problem solving and analytical skills
- Commercial and data-driven mindset with good understanding of business financials
- Good understanding of Marketing fundamentals
- Strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Driven and self-motivated with a strong 'can do’ attitude in a fast-paced environment
- Project management skills

**Desirable criteria**:

- good understanding of finance and commercials of a business
- Good understanding of business model / drivers and propositions to market
- good understanding of savings industry, market and channel dynamics
- Relevant experience in strategy and/or planning roles
- Strong independent and creative thinking, idea generator
