Smile Education Northwest are recruiting for a Behavioural Support Officer.

You will be working closely with your Head of Year and predominately working with one specific year group.

The successful Behavioural Support Officer will be responsible for managing the behaviour, attendance, and support for students across the school. You will be monitoring their attendance, arranging home visits where required & offering support to them in school.

The school want to create a “home-from-home” feeling, which enables them to nurture the students and provide them with the best education experience once they’ve successfully engaged with them emotionally.

Therefore, they need someone who has experience in safeguarding, mentoring, counselling or SEMH -or who has previously worked as a Behavioural Support Officer & can build trusting relationships and provide security to our vulnerable learners and who are able to communicate clearly, confidently and demonstrate resilience in the face of high pressure circumstances.

**About you**:
Beneficial traits for this role include patience, resilience and approachability; you also need to have the ability to communicate effectively with the SENDCO, class teacher, external agencies and parents about SEND pupils learning and progress.
