**The Opportunity** Salary**:£28,371 to £31,099 per annum
**Contract Type**: Permanent
**Working Pattern**:Full time, 37 hours per week Monday to Friday.
**Location**:County Hall, Chichester with hybrid working opportunities. You may also need to travel around the county when required, independently.
As our successful postholder, you will support the development and delivery of the Active Travel priorities and the West Sussex Chargepoint Network, to support sustainable travel planning, accessibility, safety and local walking and cycling infrastructure plans.
You will coordinate and undertake preliminary feasibility studies with partners and stakeholders and undertake consultations as part of the development of proposed highway improvement schemes.
Your role will help County Councillors, planners and developers, school leaders and communities, bus operators, cycling and walking forums and safety professionals to identify and develop the Local Transport Improvement Programme (LTIP) that will feed future annual capital delivery plans.

**What are we looking for?** As our Project Support Officer, you will possess the following**:
- Experience of running consultations, and ideally a knowledge of highways and transport priorities.
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of Active Travel initiatives, including walking, wheeling and cycling.
- Project management experience with a good understanding of the systems and practices required to move projects forward.
- Great communication skills and will be organised with sound analytical skills.
- Ideally have worked in fast-moving teams before, used to multi-tasking and working flexibly on your own initiative, as well as some level of coordinating the work of others.
- Adept at building relationships with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally, providing advice and guidance, and influencing or persuading where needed on a range of issues.
