**About the Job**
Join us as a Marketing and Project Support Officer and become part of a brand-new Experience Sussex team.

We are looking for a Marketing and Project Support Officer to join us. Your role will be focused on supporting the development of the Sussex visitor economy and on Experience Sussex marketing activities. You will be employed by West Sussex County Council.

**Salary**: £27,334 to £29,777 per annum.

**Location**: Flexibility in work location. A typical week will combine homeworking with attendance at in person team meetings and site visits across Sussex. This is led by the needs of the service.

**Contract**: Fixed-term contract, 2 years.

**Working pattern**: Full-time, 37 hours per week. Flexible working options available, to be agreed with your line manager.

**Employer Pension Contribution**: 20.70% this alters per annum on the 1st April each year.

**Annual leave**: 25 days holiday + Bank holidays = **33 days**.

**Interviews**:Interviews will be held in Chichester, West Sussex.

East Sussex County Council and West Sussex County Council have teamed up to launch Experience Sussex, an initiative to boost the Sussex Visitor Economy in line with a new Plan for Growth.

As a Marketing and Project Support Officer, tasks that you will work on day-to-day include:

- Content creation
- Managing social media
- Communicating with businesses and partner organisations
- Administering the website
- Providing support for events and partnership marketing campaigns
- Supporting projects to develop and grow the sector
- Business planning
- Events coordination
- Business liaison
- Monitoring and reporting
- Budget administration

In this role you will be responsible for monitoring the progress of the Experience Sussex delivery plan, as well as assisting with project management throughout the team and planning and overseeing various small, related projects.
**What we need from you**:

- Sound communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to write effectively for a range of audiences
- Demonstrable experience of working on a variety of marketing activities
- Sound and accurate IT skills
- Ability to interpret varied and complex information to produce high quality written materials with mínimal guidance
- Experience of working within a project team with evidence of project planning, developing support documentation and resolving a variety of issues
- Experience of dealing with a range of people and services
- Ability to manage a varied workload such as planning more than one marketing campaign at a time
- Creation of both written content and imagery for social media posts and websites
- Experience of working in tourism or destination management - desirable
