**Job description**:

- The UK is a global science superpower, and Government’s ambition is to grow that status. We are known internationally for leadership in research, excellence in our scientific institutions, and enterprising approaches. Government has set out its ambitions in the R&D Roadmap and the Innovation Strategy, and in the Science Chapter of the Integrated Review.
- We have a long record in delivering science, research, innovation and technology partnerships with the EU through Horizon, with the Global South through the Global Challenges Research Fund and the Newton Fund, and with the rest of the Global North through programmes such as EUREKA and the Fund for International Collaboration. In December, we announced our new International Science Partnerships Fund, which will reshape the way we engage with the world through our science, research and innovation partnerships.
- To support this ongoing development, we are seeking to bring on a member of the team to support in the policy and strategy that underpins our international partnerships. Government has numerous strategies covering our work such as the Integrated Review, the International Technology Strategy, the R&D Roadmap and the International Development Strategy.
- This role will be ideally suited for someone with a passion for science and research that makes a global impact. The role-holder will need to be flexible in duties as our negotiations for Horizon Europe association continue, and broader context.
- The successful applicant will be expected to undertake Security Clearance (if not already a holder of Security Clearance or Developed Vetting).**Person specification**:
Policy - overseeing the design of programme-level policy covering the International Science Partnerships Fund, ensuring alignment with Departmental priorities, broader Government strategy and legal requirements.

Strategy - supporting the G7 in inputting into cross-Whitehall strategy and policy consultations in the international science and international development space.

Stakeholder Management & Comms - owning stakeholder consultation into programme and policy design.

Corporate - Contributing to the Global Research and Innovation Team and the wider International Directorate as a positive and productive team environment with a focus on collaboration, Learning & Development and wellbeing.

**Skills and Experience**

Able to translate big picture strategy into deliverable outcomes, and able to prioritise competing big picture demands.

Are able to communicate at all levels including with Ministers and senior stakeholders and are able to connect your day to day aims and objectives with the bigger strategic picture. Responsiveness and adaptability to changing circumstances and demands.
