As a member our GP Surgery in Wilmslow the successful applicant will help deliver administrative duties in order to support high standards of patient care.

They will be responsible for the general administrative functions focusing on the Echo and Ultrasound service we offer here at the Practice. But to be flexible and work in other areas when needed. Working within set routines, policies and procedures to provide a comprehensive high quality service to the practice, and able to deal efficiently and courteously with patients enquiries.

About us

The GP Practice has three GP partners and is managed by the the Practice Manager, Business manger and a wider management team.. Additional team members include GP’s, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, HCAs, Care navigators, Clinical Pharmacist and more.

Who we’re looking for
- Previous administration/receptionist experience in a similar setting and ideally in a GP Practice.
- Experienced in providing information and advice to patients/relatives.
- The ability to exercise judgement when dealing with patient enquiries /problems.
- Excellent Computer Skills.
- Knowledge of EMIS web clinical system
- The ability to manage own workload and act independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High degree of accuracy with regard to patient correspondence and filing.
- The ability to assist with training and development of new members of the administration team.
- Sensitivity and empathy with people from different backgrounds.
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy.
- Ability to work without close supervision.
- The ability to work to a professional standard

Job Responsibilities
- To answer the telephone promptly and deal with enquiries in a helpful and courteous manner, being aware of the need to maintain confidentiality at all times regarding patients and staff.
- Booking, cancelling, amending patients appointments using EMIS web clinical software
- To maintain a good rapport/relationship between internal and external customers of the Practice at all times.
- To have an overview of the demands and workflow of the Practice during the working day.
- Scanning and action the clinical correspondence as per GP instructions into the patients’ medical records
- To be flexible to cover shifts in the event of staff holidays and sickness at short notice

**Salary**: £10.30 per hour
