We are looking for a Digital Content Strategist (DCS) to join our team and help shape the University’s digital future. Our websites have an incredibly diverse set of audiences - from school children through to postgraduate students, from thought leadersin ground-breaking research to world leaders in commerce and industry. As part of our new Web Transformation Programme Team, the DCS will be responsible for leading a team of three Digital Content Editors who will define a new content structure for our mainwebsite; and manage the audit, migration, copywriting and page building processes required to populate it.

You will need to be able to strike the perfect balance between digital best practice, user-centric thinking and a pragmatic approach to content delivery against challenging deadlines. You will need to be a diplomat, an inspirational leader and capable ofworking under pressure. To be considered, must also have experience of leading the content strategy and migration elements of at least one large scale website implementation. You will have a natural flair for combining multiple sources of information withyour own user-centric thinking in order define a website structure that meets both user and business needs.

You must be familiar with the importance of content governance in a distributed publishing model, CMS tools, SEO, content modelling, good user experience and have exceptional stakeholder management skills. You will also have a terrific eye for detail andbe able to work to tight timescales to ensure the smooth migration of content. Our DCS will also identify and deliver incremental improvements to our current main website to ensure that user experiences are enhanced in the short term.

We also need you to be an experienced line manager who can motivate, inspire and organise a small but highly skilled team of Digital Content Editors; designing and implementing processes that ensure that the many strands of a large scale content planningand migration project are delivered on time, and recognising where resource needs to be used in an agile way. You will also need to have a first-class standard of written English in order to review and approve new content that is created by the Digital ContentEditors. Our Digital Content Strategist will also need to have extensive supplier management skills and a general awareness of how multi-workstream agile projects are delivered.

Experience of running content projects and/or digital teams in a Higher Education environment would be advantageous but not essential. **Job Description**:

- Create a new over-arching website digital content strategy for the University that transforms our digital profile, significantly enhances our revenue streams through improved website performance.
- Define and implement a new high level navigation structure for our flagship website, ensuring existing content is audited, edited and migrated.
- Line manage a team of 3 experienced Digital Content Editors.
- Manage 3rd party supplier relationships to procure content creation services, technical auditing, new software/systems and other requirements as they arise.
- Identify tactical opportunities to significantly improve user experience on current websites.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Create a new over-arching website digital content strategy for the University that transforms our digital profile, significantly enhances our revenue streams through improved website performance, and reduces the cost and time to implement new digital content.
- Work with senior stakeholders from across the University to understand their medium to long-term strategies, and ensuring these are integrated into the content strategy for our new website(s).
- Coordinate resources both inside and outside of the project team to ensure all content pages in our current platform are analysed, audited and assessed for migration to a new content design.
- Design and implement a new high level navigation structure for our flagship websites. Obtain buy-in and sign off from the project governance board and key stakeholders across the university.
- Identify strategic-level content opportunities for the University that improve our commercial position and our global reputation.
- Define a new pan-university training programme that encompasses new platforms, governance and quality control processes.
- Line manage a team of 3 experienced Digital Content Editors (DCEs).
- Manage 3rd party supplier relationships to procure content creation services, technical auditing, new software/systems and other requirements as they arise.
- Create new processes to track and manage the migration of critical content and assets from our old websites and supporting platforms to our chosen solution. Implement and optimise these new processes via the DCEs.
- Work with IDG and Marketing management teams to investigate and resolve critical issues with the current websites.
