**About the role**

The Facilities Lead is responsible for assuring that QinetiQ maintains a high standard of deliverable output quality in the operation of fit for purpose QinetiQ facilities, working with relevant facility managers and operations group leaders to continuouslyimprove the performance of our facilities.

The Facilities Lead will undertake Facility assurance reviews across QinetiQ at all UK sites, with particular emphasis on coordination of and undertaking Facility reviews based upon a risk based schedule.

You will support designated facilities by acting as their 'critical friend' and to provide QinetiQ assurance that the facilities are fit for purpose, secure and legal;
In addition, the role will support continuous improvement activities within the Technical Excellence Directorate.

**What will I be doing?**
- The Facilities Lead produce a Facility Assurance plan and deliver against it.
- You will engage with facility investment / upgrade projects to provide assurance that a suitable Assurance Plan is put in place, relevant requirements are correctly captured, and ownership is effectively transferred to the operating facility.
- The Facilities Lead will assure that the facility safety argument (e.g. Safety Case, risk assessment etc.) is suitable, sufficient and managed.
- You will assure that the facility Safety Management Plan (SMP) is effective and that it serves as a vehicle to embed the operating principles.
- You will conduct regular Facility Assurance Board Reviews (FABR) to review facility progress in adopting the E&O operating principles.

**What do I need?**
- You should have experience in Managing or having a significant role in industrial facilities.
- The Facilities Lead should have knowledge around Safety, whether this is Safety Engineering or Operational Safety.
