Are you a qualified solicitor/barrister looking for a new opportunity? Jefferson Wells are pleased to be working closely with a market leading defence & security contractor to recruit a Senior Legal Counsel to support strategy & exploitation of Intellectualproperty.

This role is working for an international business who specialise in Defence & Security for a variety of sub sectors such as Maritime, Land, Sea & Air & Marine to name a few. They are a centre of excellence in research & development and use some of the worldsmost cutting edge technology to offer experimental facilities, engineering & technical expertise. This includes cyber & digital resilience, information advantage, training & mission rehearsal and target systems to name a few.

What will you be doing?
- Delivering high quality legal services across the group, covering a range of IP matters
- Drafting, reviewing & negotiating licenses & agreements relating to technology transfers and IP exploitation
- Drafting & negotiating agreements related to IP generation, including R&S collaboration agreements
- Leading of provision of legal advice relating to the registration, maintenance & exploitation of the trademark portfolio
- Supporting on the development & implementation of appropriate processes & procedures for technology transfer, IP protection & exploitation
- Advice on new legislation & regulations relevant to IP law, identifying & leading on the provision of IP legal training needs and opportunities for process improvements

What are we looking for?
- Post qualified solicitor or barrister with experience in legal practice or in house
- IP & Commercial law experience with understanding of technology transfer
- Experience of managing registration & protection of trademarks
- Defence background desirable but not mandatory
- Experience of drafting & negotiating IP licenses & technology transfer contracts
