Sheffield, United Kingdom Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust Full time

We would welcome a creative and enthusiastic Family Therapist to join our inpatient CAMHS team at the Becton Centre. The service has 3 inpatient CAMHS lodges (Sapphire, Emerald and Ruby Lodge) who provide highly specialist multidisciplinary care and treatment to young people who present with a range of mental health difficulties. The successful postholder will become an integral part of a welcoming and enthusiastic MDT who value the contribution of family therapy to the care and treatment of the young people admitted to our service. The post holder will join a well established group of psychological therapists in the inpatient service including family therapy, clinical psychology, creative therapies and psychodynamic psychotherapy.

There is a large group of family and systemic psychotherapists employed across SCH (Community CAMHS, Inpatient CAMHS and Paediatric Psychology). This group meet regularly as a profession to help support CPD, professional affairs, supervision arrangements, delivery and receipt of systemic training and the staffing/ development of family therapy in the service. This is co-ordinated by the group and lead by the Professional Lead who links in with wider leadership within Psychological Services.

This post will be based primarily within Emerald Lodge which is a nationally commissioned service for young people aged 8-13. The role is varied with a strong emphasis on ward presence around the young people and staff along with working with parents and carers to support change. The post holder will be expected to deliver family therapy and link this therapy with the multidisciplinary approach. There will be opportunities to work with other professionals and support the development of skills within the team. This role is well supported by an experienced Principal Family Therapist and other members of the inpatient psychological services team.

Good communication and creative collaboration with the rest of the team, families, young people and community partners is a significant part of this role.

Sheffield Children’s is one of three independent, specialist paediatric hospitals in the country, providing dedicated healthcare for children and young people across community, mental health and acute specialist settings.

We have three overarching aims that set the direction for the Trust in our vision “to create a healthier future for children and young people.”
- Outstanding patient care
- Brilliant place to work
- Leader in children’s health

Our commitment to rewarding colleagues is demonstrated through our brilliant reward and benefits offer including; generous annual leave entitlement and pension scheme and access to salary sacrifice schemes such as cycle to work and lease cars.

We are committed to supporting colleagues from different heritages and lifestyles while at work. This is supported through the offer we have in place for flexible working and the three equality network groups we have in place. Colleagues are encouraged to join these groups and request flexible working.
