Sheffield IAPT Health and Wellbeing Service

Sheffield IAPT is at the forefront of transforming access to psychological therapies, aiming to offer interventions to over 17,000 people in Sheffield each year.

The IAPT Health and Wellbeing Team delivers a range of evidence based, stepped-care interventions for people living with long term physical health conditions who are also experiencing anxiety or depression.

The team brings together experienced IAPT Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, Cognitive Behavioural Therapists, Counsellors and Clinical Health Psychologists to work closely together with health, social care and third sector colleagues across primary and secondary care in a range of physical health condition pathways.

An early implementer site and one of the largest IAPT LTC sites in the country, we have well established pathways working with patients with Diabetes, COPD, CHD, CFS/ME, IBS, MUS/PPS and Chronic Pain.

As an innovative and responsive service, we are expanding to meet additional needs associated with the Coronavirus Pandemic, offering new physical health condition pathways for patients experiencing Long-Covid and Tinnitus.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced, supportive, compassionate team who are building on their expertise of working with a wide range of LTCs to deliver safe and effective psychological treatments for patients experiencing Long Covid and other long term health conditions.

We are seeking experienced qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapists to join Sheffield IAPT’s Health and Wellbeing Team. We would like to hear from you if you share our passion for great patient care and can demonstrate:

- A high level of skills and experience of working successfully with adults experiencing depression and anxiety disorders, preferably in primary care.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a supportive team.
- An appropriate postgraduate qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and BABCP accreditation or provisional accreditation.

Sheffield IAPT is committed to your development and wellbeing.

We are proud to offer an unrivalled program of quality CPD events alongside professional forums and masterclasses. Our partnership withBespoke Mental Healthgives you free access toCPD workshopsfrom global experts. We also provide opportunities to train in additional modalities including EMDR, NET, ACT and MBCT.

We place a high value on clinical supervision and all practitioners have access to supportive 1:1 and group supervision. Qualified therapists delivering additional modalities such as EMDR, ACT, IPT and Mindfulness receive additional modality-specific supervision.

We foster an ethos of collective leadership and opportunities for our staff to develop leadership skills through participation in service development. We take enormous satisfaction from our track record of retaining staff and helping to develop individuals who have subsequently taken up leadership opportunities.

The wellbeing of staff is central to our success. We support this in a variety of ways, with wellbeing champions in each team, weekly staff mindfulness sessions and dedicated wellbeing events. Our teams adapted well to remote working during the pandemic, and we now offer a blended approach which supports work life balance, combining opportunities for face-to-face and remote working (by Attend Anywhere Video calling). At present, a full-time member of staff will typically deliver 1-2 days of face-to-face clinics.
