**Policy Specialist**:

**Location: Hybrid - 1 day per week in Office (London)**

**We are recruiting to a Principal Policy Specialist role to undertake a review of the Human Medicines Regulations (HMRs) 2012. This will be in line with our statutory responsibilities and will support our wider, longer-term regulatory reform work to develop a modernised, consolidated, and easier to navigate system.***

**The role will mean collaborating with experts across the MHRA, the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), Northern Ireland Executive, the NHS and other health organisations, interacting with the most senior people in the Agency, and drawing their inputs together into the review.***

**As a Policy Specialist your main responsibilities will be**:
Coordinating the HMR review, bringing together experts across the agency to consider:

- the extent to which the 2012 Regulations are delivering the intended outcomes,
- whether there have been any unintended consequences of the 2012 Regulations, or whether there are any areas that would benefit from clarification, refinement, or consolidation.
- To make recommendations as to renew, amend, remove, or replace the existing 2012 Regulations.
- Developing and undertaking appropriate external engagement activity with interested stakeholders to inform the review. Relevant stakeholders include, but are not limited to: patient groups, the NHS, DHSC, industry, and other international regulators.
- Considering how the review will inform longer-term regulatory reform work to develop a modernised, consolidated and easier to navigate system.
- Involvement in other related issues in the Partnerships Group as required.

**You’ll have relevant experience in**:

- Stakeholder engagement experience - National and International
- Policy background
- Interpersonal skills
- Experience of working with regulations and regulators
- Attention to detail.
