This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join the HR team. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, working as an integral member of the airport People and Planning team, you will proactively support line management and the CPO in the delivery of the people strategy for the airport.
You will be responsible for managing a small, generalist HR team, building effective relationships with employees, Unions, leaders and managers and building management competence.
We operate a supportive and full service HR team who are flexible and driven to meet operational needs. This is a hands on role in a complex and exciting environment.
Principal accountabilities
- Provide expert advice and assistance to all managers on all aspects of HR including generalist advice on employee relations, effective people management, performance management and resource planning ensuring that all activities are completed with the appropriate governance, in line with policies and consistent.
- Manage relationships with recognised trade unions
- Support the CPO in planning and delivering the People Strategy in consultation with the relevant internal and external stakeholders including recognised Unions.
- Actively coach and mentor the HR team and line managers to build knowledge and expertise.
- Implementing performance management, talent mapping and succession planning which will have a positive impact on attraction and retention.
- Support the CPO in delivering HR projects as directed.
- Manage compliance with the airport’s people policies and implement changes as required by legislation/airport requirements.
- Working in collaboration with the Occupational Health Manager to devise and deliver the annual Wellbeing Strategy, linking where appropriate with internal and/or external colleagues/companies.
- Manage and prioritise the work of the HR team, providing coaching and development.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the EAL company policy, pay and grading structure and advise line managers on ER matters within the boundaries of that structure.
- Work in close partnership with Internal Communications teams/specialists to ensure effective communication throughout the organisation.
- Deliver a fully compliant HR function in line with agreed SLA’s and provide reporting on this.
