**Post**:SIMS and Data Administrator

**Contract Type**: Permanent

**Salary**:£22,000 - £23,000 (dependent on experience)

**Hours**: 40 Hours per week

**Working Weeks**: Full Year

**Reporting to**:SIMS, Data and Assessment Manager

**Purpose of the Role**

The postholder will report to the SIMS, Data and Assessment Manager in supporting that SIMS at Westholme School manages all data entered on to the system and meeting all reporting requirements, both internal and external in line with guidelines set out by the Department for Education.

**Main responsibilities and duties include**:

- Assist the SIMS, Data & Assessment Manager with the day to day management of the school’s SIMS administrative system
- Being recognised as a SIMS support within the School and at all times maintaining a high level of systems knowledge by attending workshops and training events as necessary
- Maintain and update all administrative and information systems and processes as required, including retrieving and collating information to ensure delivery of a high level administrative service
- Produce lists, information and data as required, for example, pupils’ data and to maintain and collate pupil reports accurately
- Assist the SIMS, Data & Assessment Manager with creating aspects/templates/mark sheets/student reports
- Assist in the inputting of student data, including admissions, achievements and behavioural records, and to ensure these are accurately maintained and input in a timely manner
- Assist in the oversight of the operation of the parental reporting systems
- Assist in the production of progress analysis, data summaries and data comparisons for use by SLT/head of faculties/teachers
- Assist in the admin for preparation of examination / results analysis
- Assist with the completion of all census returns in relation to the schools databases
- Assist in the provision of data and reports required by Heads of Faculty/Heads of Year/Teachers
- Monitor the effectiveness of SIMS usage and feeding back findings to the SIMS, Data and Assessment Manager to inform planning
- Deal with queries from parents/other schools/the local Authority/ISC/other agencies in relation to student data ensuring compliance with the Data Protection Act at all times
- Deal with queries from staff
- Use initiative and time management to organise own workload in order to meet deadlines.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times in respect of School related matters and preventing disclosure of confidential sensitive information in line with data protection legislation
- Undertaking any other ad hoc duties as directed by SLT
- Be aware of and comply with all School policies and procedures particularly relating to child protection, equal opportunities, health and safety and security, confidentiality, and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person
- Carry out all duties with regard to the School’s policies and codes of conduct
- Participate in training and other learning activities as required and to participate in appraisal and professional development
- Set high expectations of conduct, whilst acting as a good role model for others
