Junior Business Development Executive

Platform are working with a Logistics company in Newport that are offering a great opportunity for someone looking to build a career in the Logistics Industry. We are looking for a **Junior Business Development Executive**, that will be contacting possible clients for new business, learning the services and shipping methods they can offer and provide an great service that will lead to repeat business and an excellent clientbase. This is an office based role.
There is a clear progression plan for this person to become a Business Development Manager once they have passed their training and started a client base. This will involve visiting clients on site and conducting face to face meetings.
**Benefits**:
- Salary of up to £22,000 basic with bonus package on top

**Responsibilities**:
- To canvas call companies in Wales and the South West area that would require shipping/ movement of products
- Learn all shipping services you and methods of transport you have available to be able to sell to customers providing a consultative approach
- Services will include express and standard road transport across UK and Europe
- Establishing the customer's needs and promoting correct service for them
- Building relationships with new customers and maintain existing
- To generate sales leads from actual live cold calls
- Build a solid customer base that offer repeat business
- Book appointments to visit customers where possible, building relationship further
**Essential Skills**:
- Confident to make outbound calls
- Ability to learn products and services
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- IT skills, able to use Microsoft Word, Outlook and basic Excel
- Organised and able to prioritise taks
**Desirable**:
- Sales/ outbound calling experience
- Full driving license
