RSPCA Llys Nini Cardiff to Swansea is an independently registered charity (registered charity number 224337) affiliated to, but not directly funded, by the RSPCA.

RSPCA Llys Nini has 78 acres of farm and woodland at it’s base in Penllergaer. PET will be working at the Llys Nini site to improve the environment for biodiversity and to develop a community garden project for volunteers, some of whom may be neurodiverse.

**Job Title**: Part Time **Community Garden Worker and Groundsman**

**Working with the Full Time Groundsman but**

**Reporting to: Animal Centre Manager**

**Hours**: 14 hours per week working overtime on occasions as necessary. (worked over 3 days by arrangement)

**Salary**: £11.00 /hour

**This is a multi tasking role, and will include grounds work, gardening, volunteer recruitment and supervision and helping the Community Team.**
- General cleaning and maintenance of the site, developing a community garden, working with volunteers and, with them, implementing aspects of the site management plan such as coppicing and scrub clearance:

- Helping to ensure the grounds are tidy, clean, safe and suitable for staff, visitors, and volunteers including all aspects of health and safety on the site are met.
- Taking on special land projects as deemed necessary.
- To train volunteer and work placements in gardening, land/woodland management skills and techniques.
- Help to develop a sustainable, green, community resource, protect the local environment and improve biodiversity in line with the management plans set.
- To work with the community team to put on outdoor activities and volunteering activities for the community.
- You will be expected to be versatile, with multiple duties and responsibilities, including general handyman duties.
- To undertake any other reasonable activities as required by the Line Manager.

**Requirements**:

- 1+ years gardening/groundskeeping/handyman or related experience.
- Experience of working with volunteers including neurodiversity people.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Physically agile and dexterous.
- Good timekeeping.
- A team player.
- Welsh speaking preferred.
