**Job Title**: Data Rights Officer

**Salary**:The starting salary is £37,289 which includes allowances totalling £2,841.

The salary is broken down as £34,448 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £36,864. Plus, a location allowance of £1,841 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

**Location**: Hub location, either Hendon or Sidcup. We actively support blended working solutions.

The Commissioner and Management Board have determined that the Met will be a data driven organisation. This means treating our data in the same way we treat our people, methods and technology, as a strategic asset.

The Data Office is the single place of accountability across the Met that:

- Owns and drives the data compliance and analytics agenda.
- Brings together the accountabilities that are currently dispersed across the Met business areas.
- Consolidates and further develops existing Met data and insight services.
- Enables data sharing and collaboration to serve the public and external partners.

**Job Purpose**

They are responsible for supervising the Data Rights Support staff in support of this work and report direct to the Data Rights Lead.

**Key Role Responsibilities**
- Working with the Data Rights Training Officer to address gaps for the Data Rights Officer and teams.
- Process validated FOIA responses for upload to the Met Publication Scheme.
- Lead on Disclosure Risk Assessment Desk (DRAD) practices and procedure.
- Administration of the of data rights guidance toolkits.
- Attend any relevant meetings to support the Data Rights Lead as directed.
- Manage the processing of work of the Data Rights Officers relating to FOIA, DPA/UK-GDPR, or data disputes.
- Administers redaction activities, of BWV/CCTV (and emerging technologies) that are relevant to data rights work, utilising Data Rights Officers where required.
- Provide insight on management information as required by Senior Leadership Team.
- Keep specialist knowledge up-to-date with changes in legislation, NPCC and ICO guidance.
- Responsible for the development of direct reports in line with the Knowledge and Information Management (KIM) framework, reflecting this in performance reviews for staff and learner journeys.
- Other tasks as required.

**Additional Information**

A vetting level of CTC is required, all applicants must be willing to undertake Security Clearance (SC) once in post.
