**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**

To work in the HR Systems & Payroll Team within our in-house HR Team, to deliver the full range of end to end HR systems and payroll administration, working with the other HR Teams and Managers to ensure a smooth and efficient service.

**MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY**
- To input payroll data under the direction of the HR Systems & Payroll Officer, to ensure accuracy of records and pay
- Provide help and support to team/ colleagues and employees on payroll deadlines, submission and completion of data and responding to their queries in timely and confidential manner, including working on the Payroll inbox
- To make system changes on our HR Information System, iTrent. This will include creation of new positions, changing reporting lines, running reports
- To work with our Payroll provider to ensure records are updated correctly and reference requests are completed
- Undertake other relevant tasks as requested on an ad hoc basis and cover in the absence of other members of the payroll team

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**
- Basic office administration experience gained through work
- Previous experience of working in payroll is desirable, working on the full end to end payroll process including knowledge of tax, national insurance, statutory payments and pensions
- Previous experience of using an HR & Payroll database
- Experience of working to deadlines
- Excellent standard of written and oral communication skills, with thorough and methodical attention to detail
- The ability to take ownership, work at pace and get things done
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, approachable and courteous manner to give credibility and impact to customers at all levels
- Experience of successfully working as part of a team
- Demonstrates understanding of and ability to work confidentially
- Positive and self-motivated with ability to work alone and on own initiative
- Pro-active in owning issues through to resolution
- Excellent Excel knowledge, with ability to use other MS Office software packages competently
- Commitment to continual personal development
- Previous experience of using iTrent is desirable, but not essential
