Are you an enthusiastic and experienced Dietitian, looking for a senior role? We are looking for you to join our Adult Inpatient Eating Disorder team based at The Warneford Hospital in Oxford.

With a reputation for excellence, our service provides a stepped model of care tailored to the individual’s needs for stabilisation and recovery. Our service offers the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-ED) model of treatment. We offer a range of CBT-ED programmes and evidence-based treatments to assist a patient’s return to independent living, including work, training or study. As part of the team, you will have the basic training in CBT-ED. There are opportunities for further learning to masters’ degree, which we run in collaboration with Oxford Brookes University. The Trust will support you to do any research and quality improvement projects that will improve/inform the service practice.

You will be joining our team and provide specialist nutritional knowledge, dietary assessments and education to service users with Eating Disorders that have been referred to the Team.

The role of the Specialist Dietitian within the AED inpatient service is to provide comprehensive care to individuals with eating disorders, as well as taking a leadership role within the multi-disciplinary team to embed dietetics as a key element of assessment and treatment for our client group.

You will receive, and be required to offer, supervision to other team members and act as Practice Assessor / Supervisor to dietetic students and apprentices.

The specialist dietitian plays a significant role in educating patients, carers, and other healthcare providers on the complex nature of eating disorders and the nutritional risks and requirements. You will be an important member of the MDT (MULTIDISCIPLINARY TEAM) assessment clinics and will be involved in treatment formulation and assessment outcome decisions.

You will work collaboratively with the Multidisciplinary team to manage risk and develop comprehensive treatment plans as well as outcome measure collection, audit, and treatment reviews.

You will be expected to be an expert in your field and provide consultation and training to other professionals within the trust and externally as required.

You will be required to attend professional meetings as a representative of the team and be involved in service development in addition to signposting and liaison with alternative services such as specialist eating disorder community services, inpatient adult mental health teams, and acute hospitals.

As a clinical specialist, to be responsible for the continued development and provision of a specialist, evidence based dietetic service for adults with eating disorders and their families, within an eating disorder inpatient setting.

Along with the Service Managers (Matron and Senior Matron), to be responsible for the dietetic service provided to their clinical area and its development.
