**What you’ll be responsible for**:

- Ensure patient case notes are requested, collected, traced and available, maintaining general tidiness and security of case notes at all times.
- Ensure deceased patient information correctly recorded and reconciled on the relevant patient administration and trust systems, regularly monitoring data quality reports to ensure highest standards of data accuracy is maintained at all times.
- Exercise judgement and initiative in line with departmental guidelines to make informed decisions relating to the appropriate processes, procedures required for the care of deceased patients, escalating any concerns or issues to the appropriate senior colleague as required.
- Communicate with distressed or potentially aggressive relatives and family members in a professional, courteous and sensitive manner, using tact, empathy and diplomacy, seeking to overcome any barriers to understanding where relevant to achieve a satisfactory outcome.

The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above

**You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust**:

- An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
- Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
- A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

**You’ll have the following skills/experience**:

- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Packages e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- System knowledge of Ulysses system.
- A knowledge of bereavement.
- Previous administration experience.
