Tunbridge Wells Borough Council is looking for a Senior Procurement Officer to provide support to our recently expanded procurement partnership with Maidstone and Tonbridge & Malling Borough Councils. You will be providing advice and guidance on the appropriate procurement processes to key stakeholders and contract managers, ensuring that they are followed compliantly. The role will also be tasked with supporting our aims of transitioning to a category management approach (where feasible) and developing relationships with our local suppliers to encourage them to participate in our procurement processes.

**What you will have**
- Experience working in a procurement service, with public sector procurement experience or a strong category management background is essential
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Proven ability to work autonomously, and prioritise workloads
- A keen eye for detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills, and a collaborative approach and mindset
- CIPS qualifications (either part or fully qualified), or a strong desire to achieve these qualifications within an agreed timescale

This role will require a blended working approach, with a mix of remote working and office days. Your initial induction will be undertaken in the office, and the rest of your on-boarding will follow this blended approach. The mix will vary in line with the requirements of the organisation and workloads. This will require you to be self-sufficient and driven in order to achieve outcomes which are set on a weekly basis.
