An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Clinical Research Network (CRN) Integrated Care Delivery Team (ICDT) in the West Midlands as a Research Facilitator. The CRN ICDT team is responsible for the engagement of new organisations and the set-up, feasibility, performance and delivery of the NIHR Clinical Research portfolio across the region.

This is a role for aspiring Research Facilitators within the CRN West Midlands. They should demonstrate exceptional project and research management skills, be effective mentors and have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.

The Research Facilitator is responsible for facilitating the set-up, running and recruitment of participants into clinical trials and research projects that are adopted by the Clinical Research Network (CRN) on the CRN portfolio, taking place in new settings, such as schools, prisons, local authorities and community groups. They will act as a contact between the CRN and local research stakeholders including academic institutions, Clinical Research Network West Midlands, Integrated Care Boards, Integrated Care Partnerships, Local Authorities and other health and care providers in the area.

This post requires the post holder to cover the whole CRN WM area as required.

**Study delivery and facilitation**:
To work with new Partner Organisations (e.g., schools, local authorities, prisons, community groups) within the West Midlands to encourage them to participate in research and work with the NIHR CRN West Midlands in the delivery of CRN portfolio studies. To develop good working relationships with research active/research interested organisations to ensure the continued success of the delivery of CRN portfolio studies. To communicate effectively across a range of audiences, and liaise, establish, and maintain positive links with external agencies and providers.

To interpret research protocols and develop recruitment strategies and study materials to support study teams by giving in-depth advice on organisation profiles to aid recruitment strategies. To work alongside the study team, acting as a link between the study teams and the organisation by facilitating meetings for the set-up of a study. To support staff in participating centres in the conduct of the trial, being available to answer their queries, assisting with any problems, helping to set up systems to allow recruitment and data collection in each centre and feeding back information on the progress of the trial.
To co-ordinate and take an active role in managing the delivery of NIHR Performance Standards. To support the process of developing and providing appropriate monitoring / action plans for organisations so they can deliver to NIHR or Department of Health and Social Care Objectives

Study delivery and facilitation
1. To work with new Partner Organisations (e.g., schools, local authorities, prisons, community groups) within the West Midlands to encourage them to participate in research and work with the NIHR CRN West Midlands in the delivery of CRN portfolio studies

3. To communicate effectively across a wide range of audiences, and liaise, establish, and maintain positive links with external agencies and providers
4. To maintain accurate records and information relating to research activity as required
5. To offer organisations appropriate research studies and support them in any feasibility or set up procedures for the study
6. To interpret research protocols and develop recruitment strategies and study materials (such as the Research Information Sheet for Practices: RISP) if appropriate, support study teams by giving in-depth advice on organisation profiles to aid recruitment strategies
7. To develop systems, prepare reports and supply data as requested by the Assistant Research Delivery Managers / CRSL regarding research activity
