We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to join the Child Development Team psychology service. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive team offering psychological assessment and intervention for children under 6 with learning and development needs. The role involves working alongside a multi-disciplinary team, in partnership with educational settings and social care colleagues.

The Child Development Team comprises the full range of health professionals such as paediatricians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, health visitors, dieticians, specialist nursing, clinical psychologists and audiologists. The team meets regularly to discuss referrals, allocation of referrals and, to agree joint assessments and pathways of interventions.

Continuing professional development is ensured by regular clinical and managerial supervision, peer-support, and attendance at relevant courses/conferences, in line with BPS and HCPC professional requirements. Clinical Psychology in CDT is co-located within the integrated service working as an integrated care system to establish more personalised and coordinated healthcare aligned to a unified care journey. The service works with CYP with developmental concerns, neuro disability and additional health needs up to the child’s 6th birthday. Disciplines work together and work with colleagues in education, social care, universal services and secondary care to provide the right support in the right place. Teaching, training, and supervision are available to professional colleagues across within the psychological therapies structure within the Trust.

Enfield borough has a diverse population and significant socio-economic challenges. Interventions provided by the Child Development Team reflect the needs of a diverse population and is accessible to all sections of the community.

North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Hospital Trust (NMUH) is one of London’s busiest healthcare providers, providing hospital care and community services for the 350,000 people living in Enfield, Haringey and beyond.

We also provide community services and have a dedicated 0-19 service for children and young people in Enfield so that they can get the best possible start in life. This includes health visitors and school nurses who are delivering the national Healthy Child Programme, which provides a structured framework for the delivery of key interventions to support the health and wellbeing of children and families from 0 to 5 and school aged children from 5-19. The 0-19 service aims to improve pathways and partnerships with services in the hospital and deliver excellent care for the children and families.

The role will be based on-site at St Michaels, and various community locations with Enfield.

**Clinical Responsibilities**:
2. To assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a client’s problems, under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist, in clinics, and in community settings where agreed.
3. To assist in the coordination and running of therapeutic groups where appropriate.
4. To assist in the development of a psychologically based framework of understanding and care, to the benefit of all clients of the service, across all settings where care takes place.
5. To attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings.

**Management And Service Development Responsibilities**:
1. To assist in the design and implementation of service development projects within the service as required.
2. To attend meetings in which service developments are planned and discussed.

**IT Responsibilities**:
1. To input data electronically onto RIO or other systems in line with Trust policy.
2. To ensure that all relevant patient information is entered onto RIO electronic recorded system.
4. To be able to use a word processing package, excel worksheets, power point competently.
5. To be able to use research databases and advanced tools for analysis at both quantitative and qualitative levels.

**Teaching, Training and Supervision Responsibilities**:
1. In common with qualified clinical psychologists, to receive regular clinical supervision in accordance with professional practice guidelines.
2. To gain wider experience of professional psychology within the NHS over and above that provided within the local service.
3. To develop skills and competencies that assist in the delivery of current duties.
4. To contribute to the training and support of other staff in psychological approaches to care.

**Research and Service Evaluation Responsibilities**:
1. To assist in the design and implementation of audit and research projects.
2. To undertake data collection, analysis, the production of reports and summaries, using IT and statistical programmes.
3. To undertake searches of evidence-based literature and research to assist qualified clinical psychologist
