We have an exciting opportunity to join our small team of paid staff. Based primarily at Llanfair Caereinion (SY21 0SF) the Community Engagement Officer will develop and manage our Community Engagement and Volunteer Recruitment Strategies.

**About us**:
The Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway is a registered charity which operates an eight-mile long narrow gauge railway, running through beautiful mid-Wales countryside. It provides a steam hauled tourist service and heritage displays. Run predominantly by volunteers, the railway carries more than 26,000 passengers per year.

**Your role**:
Based primarily at Llanfair Caereinion (SY21 0SF), the Community Engagement Officer will lead our community engagement and recruitment, increasing volunteering from local and regional communities, ensuring the long-term resilience of the organisation.

**About you**:
With strong mentoring and coaching skills, you will help build the reputation of the W&LLR and the confidence and capability of colleagues. You are self-motivated, enthusiastic and a strong team player. You should have a demonstrable knowledge of the voluntary sector and ability to develop teams.

This is a grant funded role for an initial period of 24 months, working flexibly three days per week (24 hours). Some evening and weekend working will be required. Outreach and travel in the local community will form part of this role.

Due to our rural location, applicants should have a driving licence and access to their own vehicle.
