**Strengths Based Support Coach**

Do you want to make a real difference to people’s lives? Do you have experience of supporting adults with Complex Needs? If so, we would love to hear from you. We have an exciting opportunity for a **Strengths Based Support Coach** in our Homeless Provision based in Leyland Road, Southport. The role is shift based, working 8am till 8pm with a 3 on 3 off rota, 40.25 hours per week.

New Start is a family-run, not-for-profit organisation, we deliver a diverse range of homelessness projects and temporary housing solutions across Merseyside. We aim to enhance lives by offering good quality accommodation with structured support.

**The Role**

You will be part of a team that delivers a strengths-based service, allowing each person who accesses the project to thrive and develop, gain greater independence, and succeed to a more permanent housing solution.

As a Support Coach, you will develop a Person-Centred Support Plan focussing on the strengths of the individual, boosting their confidence as they rebuild their lives.

You will link in with partnership agencies to overcome barriers to a more permanent housing solution, creating a structured resettlement plan that they will work towards.

You’ll need to keep records of everything, experience of support planning, incident management and case records is essential.

- You will genuinely care and want to make a difference by supporting people to turn their lives around.
- You will understand the challenges vulnerable adults may face, around homelessness, mental health, substance abuse and offending - this could include having your own lived experience.
- You will have experience of delivering structured support and risk management planning.
- You will be confident and able to lone work at times, or when needed by the project.

**Ideally, you will have**:

- You will have studied up to NVQ Level 3 in Housing/Health and Social Care, or be working towards this qualification or be prepared to undertake if successful in the role
- You will have access to a vehicle with appropriate insurance to support our residents with visits such as property viewings.
